ANNUAL AWARDS

What are Annual Awards?

Each year our club likes to reward it's members who have regularly trained at the club.  We do this by running an Annual Awards competition whereby perpetual trophies are awarded to club members who have gained the most points in each award category.

The award categories for 2011 / 2012  are:

• Small/Medium Dog of the Year
• Grade 1-2 Dog of the Year (Large Dogs)
• Grade 3 Dog of the Year (Large Dogs)
• Grade 4-5 Dog of the Year (Large Dogs)
• Grade 6 Dog of the Year (Large Dogs)
• Grade 7 Dog of the Year (Large Dogs)
• ABC Dog of the Year
• Obedience Dog of the Year

The award year runs from 15th October 2011 through to 14th October 2012.

Who can gain points?

Any club member that regularly trains with us and competes at Open Kennel Club Licensed Shows can submit points for our Annual Awards. 

The grade in which your dog is working at the start of the new points year (15th October 2011) is the award category you will be entered in.   If a member changes grade during a points year, for example by winning out of Grade 2 etc, they continue to gain points in their original award category for that year.  (Not applicable for Small/Medium, ABC or Obedience award categories)

What points can be gained?

Points are awarded based on their placings at Open Kennel Club Licensed Shows.  Points can be claimed for all standard agility / jumping classes and also for special classes (e.g. helter skelter, Adams Derby, etc).   Points cannot be claimed for pay on the day classes, junior classes, pairs, teams and limited shows. 

Points will be awarded as follows:

Agility & Jumping Rounds 1st    =  20 pts 2nd   =  19 pts 3rd   =   18 pts 4th   =   17 pts 5th   =   16 pts 6th   =   15 pts 7th   =   14 pts 8th   =   13 pts 9th   =   12 pts 10th   = 11 pts 11th   = 10 pts 12th   =   9 pts 13th   =   8 pts 14th   =   7 pts 15th   =   6 pts 16th   =   5 pts 17th   =   4 pts 18th   =   3 pts 19th   =   2 pts 20th   =   1 pt     Unplaced Clear Rounds = 1 pt

Obedience 1st   =   6 pts 2nd  =   5 pts 3rd   =   4 pts 4th   =   3 pts 5th   =   2 pts 6th   =   1 pts

 

How Do I Submit My Points?

 

To submit your points click on the relevant link below and fill in the Points Claim Form.

Obedience Points:  Click here  

Points will not be accepted via any other method without prior consent.

Points must be submitted by the end of the month following the month of the show for which the points are being claimed.
